Hi, I'm new here. My dad is a long time motorcycle rider and got me a
1968 CB350 to fix up as a project, then ride. My understanding is that
it hasn't run in 20 years. It arrived as a rolling frame + box
containing the airboxes, carbs and some misc. bits & pieces. My dad has
this Yamaha magic carb cleaner stuff which cleaned the varnish and gunk
off quite nicely. We plugged a hole in one of the carb bowls, drained
the old engine oil (still looks new),
My question is, how do I get the diaphragms off the slide
assembly that they're attached to? There doesn't seem to be any
threading, and they don't just pull straight off. Searching Google has
lead to nothing but people saying how they managed to repair their
diaphragms with tire patches, bits of thin raincoat, etc. We already
have new diaphragms, it's just a matter of installing them.
Thanks,
Eric
