There may be some special collector's value attached to your '74, but that
would be pretty unlikely for this bike, because of all the modifications and
aftermarket replacements.

Keep in mind that Kelley's isn't the absolute valuation for any bike.  It's
worth what someone will be willing to pay for it.  But with a Blue Book
value probably in the neighborhood of $1,500 or less, nobody's gonna start
bidding at $5,000.

If you're desperate to dump it, try a no-reserve auction, and see what
competitive bidding can do for you.  I'm constantly surprised at how much
things sell for on eBay once folks decide that "nobody's gonna out-bid me!"
