My Vulcan 750 has started to blow the 30 fuse every once in a while.
It doesnt do it al the time but it has happened twice now in the last
five or six rides. I did install a new battery and I put a new
techometer on not long before this started to happen. I was wondering
if anyone had any ideas of why this is happening and how to fix it.
Also on the back of the tank i just noticed that there is a metal tube
coming out at an angle under the seat, but it isn't attached to
anything its just by itself. Im sure there is supposed to be somthing
attached to it. Does anyone know what this is for and/or what is
supposed to connect to it. thanks

Look around the headlight housing (inside too) and at the triple tree for
wires that have worn through... Common problem on the 750.
Also check that the ground cable from the battery is tight to the frame and
that the frame has bare metal where it connects and is not painted over.

Tank vent. It goes up to the filler cap and allows excess pressure to be
vented as the tank heats, cools, and is emptied. You might even notice a
sound every once in a while after parking the bike as it whistles.
Now... A few VERY important things...
Did you replace the battery with a WestCo or Yuasa sealed GEL-type or Glass
Mat battery? If not, you had better check the water level prior to EVERY
ride. The VN750 has a weak stator / Rectifier/regulator and if the battery
gets low, you are in for a $600-1000 repair of those components unless you
are quite mechanically included to do it yourself.
More importantly, go to the following web site and join NOW. Lots of Vulcan
700/750 owners there with more information than you can possibly digest.
Tell them Joe "viAgro" sent ya.
