For some unknown reason my headlight quit working.I checked all the fuses and
they are all ok.all the other lights work except the headlights. I
checked the bulb and it works when hooked up to a battery.there is no power to
the wires that hook up to the light. Is there a headlight relay or
something I missed. Hopefully someone can help me solve the problem. Any help
would be appreciated.

Yamaha electrical engineers are absolutely crazy for making things too
complicated. There are three relays underneath the side cover, one is
a fuel
pump relay, one is a turn signal relay, and the online parts fiche
just calls the third one a "relay".

Yamaha uses dual function relays for master power relays. The dual
function relay will use one function to turn the electrical power ON
when you turn the key on, then the other function will do something
like preventing you from starting the motorcycle while the kickstand
is down and the transmission is in gear,

So, get out your owners manual and start reading the wiring diagram to
see what the relays do.
