Hey,

I'm finally ready for a new ride.  I was all set on a used 2003 V-star
1100 classic, but then I found a 98 Shadow Aero for sale.

They are both about the same price and the same engine size... both
can carry my wife, although the V-star will need a rear seat/sissybar
if I get it.  The Shadow is much more tricked out looking (orange and
white, verses silver and cream of the v-star).

I've been riding an older Kawasaki 750 LTD for a couple of years, but
I haven't Ridden Either of these bikes and don't know which is the
better ride or better deal both are $6,500 and 6,800, respectively.

Any opinions?

James

I thought the V-Star 1100 was a hard ride, but that was solo and it'd be
different two up. If you do your own maintenance, be aware of the fact that
the V-Star requires the front exhaust pipe is removed to change the oil
filter. Crap idea that, but what can you do? :-)

The Honda. Well it's a Honda so it'll do what it says on the tin, but it'll
do it with no soul. It'll start, keep running and switch off when you're
done. Then it'll wait 'til you want to do it all again and do it.
Reliability. The fit and finish is typically Honda too, which is superb.

The thing to d is ride both the bikes and make yur decision based on which
one turns you on. Then crack the wallet and enjoy. EITHER bike will fill the
bill if the billis good cruising with good reliabilty.
