My last mount was a Goldwing 20 years ago B4 I did the mortgage - raise
family thing. Now I'm kid (and almost wife) free and I want to grow old
disgracefully.
Any old farts want to come riding with me :-) At least in thought if not
reality <grin>

I've got about 10 years on you and still have that chain around my ankle
but..........

I'm riding from E. Central Illinois/W. Central Indiana to Atlanta, Ga. in
about 10 days.  You're welcome to join in..........in whatever form or
reality you wish! ;-)

Hey, I'm only five years away from 53, and I don't care for the
implication that my coothood is that close! =:o Well, since I can still
easily fit my elfin body into a size 38 Aerostich with spare oom for a
sweater, I don't think I have to worry.

Anyway, it's highly recommended that you go and take the MSF basic rider
course as a refresher before you get back in the saddle. You're right in
that age group that's crashing motorcycles a lot these days. :( Make you
dream a reality but be realistic about it. What would you say if your
buddy who parked his Cessna in the barn 20 years ago invited you along
for a flight? You'd tell him to go get his ticket recertified, that's
what you'd say. :-)

So. Take the MSF class, get yourself a bike, and go riding!
