I'm a new rider in the Seattle area.  My plan has alwasy been to ride
all year long, which with our mild winters is more than possible.
However, I'll be moving (somewhere) next summer for residency and Salt
Lake City, UT is near the top of my list.
I was just there for an interview and the roads were 'clean/clear' but
there's SALT everywhere, and outside of the city and off the highways
there are still patches of packed snow/ice in places.
I wouldn't ride in/on snow, but it's always possible to be caught by
surprise.  Plus I know the salt can't be good.

Q: For riders in SLC or other places that get snow (but the city cleans
it) what do you do/recommend during the winter?

Thanks in advance
