I am finalizing my choice for my next bike. I am strongly leaning toward
the Suzuki C50. Some people have claimed the hubs crack due to a defective
alloy. I've not found a whole lot of information on this. It does concern
me. I have not heard of any recalls. I have heard also that the cracks are
actually casting marks.
Anyone have any information about this?

Here's the recall page of the NHTSA:

This might be a little more useful:

I have a 2003 Volusia, the predecessor of the C50. I haven't gotten
any notices for what it's worth.

Those are indeed casting marks, not "cracks". It's been talked about on
most of the Volusia/Intruder forums at length. So don't worry buy the
bike- it's awsome!
