Does anyone know what causes ZX6's from 85-94 to lose power when they warm up ?

 

I have 4 x 86 Ninja 600's, and I have friends who have early 90's ones.
Eventually, once they've gotten hot, they seem to have a problem that makes
them lose about 50% of their power once they're warmed up. I have overcome
this problem in the past by changing the carbs. This doesn't seem logical,
and the change is so abrupt, it has to be electrical. I have changed the
coils too, but with no success. Does anyone know what is going on?
