Cannot be burning gas, right, unless the the engine is turning over.
What do you think? Good way to ride an enviro sounding bike like the
electrics or just too dangerous.
I only do it when I am out of range of drivers giving a F>>> but it
gives the environment a rest from the noise not to mention me too. If it
saves gas that's alright too.
Talked to the police about it and he doubts I would get a ticket
although it is not allowed. Only sign I have ever seen in the city is for
trucks not to use the engine as a brake. What about using no engine lol.
It is cool because you don't have the engine holding you back.
My way of staying sane with all this nutso traffic in the cities. Always
racing to the next red light. It is as if common sense took the A train
long time ago.
"Hurry up and wait" as they say. Even if they do make a light big deal
I will see them at the next and the next and the next. I am saving up for a
nice LED sign saying BACK OFF on my licence.
Ciau mon amis.

If you ride 10,000 miles a year AND do that every chance you get, you MIGHT
save a whole gallon of gas each year. The extra wear on the clutch would
more than make up of the tiny bit of $$$ you save on fuel.
There are laws against that for good reason. Too easy to lose control of
your speed and too likely you will re-engage the clutch in the wrong
gear.........or otherwise lose track of what the hell it is that you are
doing.
Bad idea; really bad.
Then again, if it makes you feel good somehow, go for it.
The gene pool will improve a bit before too long.

Never said I was doing it for the gas but hey, maybe your ears will leave
the gene pool.
Yes I got the gearing wrong a couple times but now I know what to do. I
look at the speedometer. I do not do it near anyone so where's the beef?
Where do you get your figures by the way D.A.?

Well, you did start your question with, "Cannot be burning gas", so it's
fair to think that was your goal. If you're worried about the
environment, then get a bike with a cat. Newer BMWs all have them.

Since most of the fuel is used up under acceleration or high-speed
riding, the fuel savings when coasting or braking‹when you'd have the
throttle closed anyway‹is going to be rather small. I bet the
tank-to-tank variation is more than the savings you'd be able to
consistently achieve from the technique. IOW, it's not significant.

It's easy to say a war is so important your neighbor should go fight it for you.

It was an example, formulated using everyday common sense..........something
you seem to know little about.
Just look around you....cars....buses.....trucks......motorcycles.....does
ANYBODY else do that?
NO? Think there might be a reason they don't? DUH!
BTW, I'm not a District Attorney......and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn
Express either. ;-)
