I just took my clutch system apart for cleaning due to it sticking. It was
indeed very dirty.
Upon reassembling everything I can't get the clutch to pressurize. I get no
bubbles out of the bleed valve on the slave cylinder so I don't think I have
air trapped. I also tried a suggestion to bleed the hose where it connects
to the master cylinder. No luck. I haven't traced the line to see if
there's a junction somewhere that may be trapping air so maybe thats it.
The master cylinder is making the mini fountain of brake fluid when I
squeeze the lever so I think its pumping.
Any suggestions.
Oh yeah, this is on an 85 Magna.

I had the same problem with being unable to pump up any pressure. So I took
the slave cylinder off the engine and pushed the piston all the way in. That
drove the air bubble up the hose and I was able to pump up pressure.

Found my problem. When I took the master cylinder apart I put the rubber
plug that fits over the end of the spring on the wrong end. I was blocking
the passage of fluid when it was pumping. Live and learn....
