Ok Guys I've bought a 2000 Suzuki LS650 with 4800 miles on it. now I need some
help on figuring out the different possitions on the fuel shut off and the key
possitions.
Starting with the key. What does the "P" possition on it mean ?
The fuel shut off Res, fuel, and PRi possition on it. What do these mean.
Last question I have.... where can I get the original operators manual for it.
I see where I can get the service manual but when the bike was sold at the
dealer the had to of been a operators manual with it.
Thanks for your help :)

Park. In Japan, motorcycles parked on the street need to have the
parking lights on all night.
Don't go off and leave your bike with the ignition switch in the "P"
position, it will drain the battery and you might need to buy a new
one if it sulfates internally.

FUEL is just to attract the rider's attention to the fact that the
fuel cock controls the flow of gasoline. Your motorcycle has a vacuum-
operated automatic fuel cock that opens when you start the engine and
stays open as long as the engine is running.
RES = Reserve, about 1/2 or 3/4 of a gallon is left in the tank when
the main standup is above the fuel level.
PRI = Prime. If you leave the motorcycle parked for a few months
without riding it, the gasoline will evaporate out of the carburetor
and the battery will slowly self-discharge. Putting the fuel cock in
the PRI position bypasses the automatic shutoff valve and allows
gasoline to refill the float bowl without using the electric starter
to crank the engine.

Try your local $uzuki $tealer$hip. They will be happy to order an
owners manual for you. If you want to get a cheaper used owners
manual, search ebay.
