I looked for bulbs for my old 1971 Honda which the auto parts didn't
have, but they may have had something compatable. Does anyone know of
a website where you can compare wattage, amps or shows replacements
for hard to find bulbs?
Thanks,
George

Which bulbs do you want?
Most are stock items that can be got cheap from many sources.
Example.I run an old Cx500 but my headlight bulb is a standard H4 but
not.I replaced it with a H4 Xenon bulb from a car shop,
http://www.speeding.co.uk/
Twice the light for the same current draw,
My dual back brake/parking bulbs are now modern LED bulbs,
http://tinyurl.com/a6rfs
well over 10X less current draw and virtually indestructible and
faster reaction time :)

>Hard to find? Only if you don't go to www.denniskirk.com or look at the
>chart in the paper catalog.
>If you just want incandescent light bulbs, use an 1157 for the
>brake/tail light and an 1157 for the front turn signals (if you have
>running lights up front, which I think you do have) and a 1073 for rear
>turn signal without rear running lights.
>The 1157 is 8 watts as a tail light or running light and 26 watts as a
>brake light or turn signal. The 1073 is a 23 watt single filament turn
>signal bulb.
>A 1034 is a 23/8 watt dual filament bulb. First time I burned out a
>1034 and went looking for a replacement the parts guys sez, "Why doncha
>use an 1157, they're brighter."
>"Okey-dokey," sez I...
>Check your Honda owner's manual to see if the wattages are about the
>same as the manual specifies. A low wattage bulb in a turn signal won't
>cause the flasher to operate, it will just stay on all the time. A
>higher wattage than is called for will cause the flasher to flash the
>lights too fast.
The problem I have run into is the type of socket. The Clymer manual
says 1157 for the rear turn signal but that bulb has one post higher
than the other on the socket. All my bulbs need to be the type that
have 2 lower posts on the socket, so I need to find a comparable
wattage with the right socket. Clymer says 1034/1073 for the front
which would work for front and back if I can find them. I was looking
at an auto parts store yesterday, I might be able to find them at a
cycle store or online. I would certainly consider the led's for
replacement if I can find them. I'm sure I can find these things
online but I was hoping to find them and get it fixed today.
Thanks for your help,
George

What I wasn't saying, and should have, is that tese all need to be
single contact or single element bulbs.
