It happens.
A female acquaintance did a couple years in prison for dozens of B&E's she
committed with her then boyfriend.
They got caught when they were at a hotel on their way up north to go skiing
(naturally, with stolen equipment) and the original owner of one of the
pairs of skis just happened to be at the same hotel. He looked in or on
their car and noticed "Hey, those are my skis!".
That was the beginning of the end ...
