I'm looking for recommendations (or warnings) about any of these "motorcycle
only" or "motorcycle specialist" insurance companies. After comparing
quotes to my American Family policy, I've found some are higher, like Geico,
and some are lower, like Bike-Line by Markel American Insurance.
They all have pretty much the same rating by A.M. Best, but I don't
subscribe to their Insurance Rating service so I can't get any details. Has
anyone had any overwhelmingly positive or negative experiences filing claims
or dealing with these type of insurance companies?
Please remove the "nospam" from my email address if you don't reply to this
newsgroup.
Thanks,
Dan

What the hell is "dealer insurance"? Is that the high buck stuff they
try to pawn off on you when you buy a bike at a dealer?
I've insured through Grange- available through your local Grange
Insurance Co. (phone book). 56 dollars for the year for liability.
Also, current ly through Allstate 120 for full coverage on my Volusia
and my Vino.
Allstates service/agents seem to suck, but 'm covered.
Companies like Gieco Progressive ect. are high risk carriers and once
you get with one of those, it's sometimes hard to go back to a
"regular" insurance carrier.

Well I have Geico Ins. on a 99 harley dresser, and a Yamaha Virago 1100 and
its only 425 a year, hundreds less than anywhere else I have tried, They are
the best so far, with little problems collecting on a claim had to use it in
may when I went down they paid 90% of my hospital bills, and premiums went
down each year.
of course I guess it depends on your age and driving record too.
RIDE SAFE,
