Its true...you need to start on a bigger bike
unfortunately...but with your weight it should be fine...just
dont goose that sucker up too fast before you get real good at
riding.. takes 6 months to get half way up to speed..
So go sit on some big bikes.. see how they fit... something
with high wide bars and low forward foot pegs..in a standard
the Kawasaki 1200 an inline water cooled 4, the eddie lawson
replica would be a very good choice.
Or an 1800 cc water cooled V twin...if you like a cruizer
style riding. Or a honda gold wing or valkari if you like
spending money and cruizing but these are not back road haul
ass bikes like the i4 kawasaki. Then fit a fairly tall wind
screen to it...lacking that the wind can get tiring if you do
more than short hauls.
Triumph makes some good bikes for a guy like you also.. the
1000 cc speed triple if you like the ergonomics... sit up
straight bikes with pegs under your knees are most
confortable.. pegs farther back and bars farther forward are
not the most otimal or comfortable for many riders especially
new riders.

Me neither, but I'm a 5' 10" 150 pounder.
