Only time I have laid down my Valkyrie. I had worked a hard 16 hours and
had arrived home late very tired. I pulled up to my garage door and started
to get off the bike to open the door. As I leaned the bike over on the
stand at the same time lifting my leg over the seat to dismount, the bike
leaned over and KEPT GOING. It took a split second to register on my tired
brain what was happening. I FORGOT TO ACTUALLY PUT THE STAND DOWN. By this
time I was trying to balance on my left leg, while a 750 lb. bike was now
resting against it, and holding on to the bars while my right leg tried to
find a place to be other then sticking in the air. Needless to say all that
I could actually do was just slow the fall of the bike while I stumbled
backwards. Luckily falling to the left, it came to rest on the rear tire,
raised stand, and left engine guard. Other then small scratches on the
lower corner of the engine guard there was no damage, but righting that bus
was a b&*^%!

You must have a crazy flat spot in the center of your tire for it to
stand straight up on its own.

It just happened to be balanced that way... Or I was subconsciously holding
it while I got off...
