What's the best tire set for a 2003 Gold Wing? I place mileage above
curve-sticking performance. The Dunlop Elite on the rear went 23K before it
went wonky, and the Metzler on the front went 21K. I lean toward Dunlop
Elites because of the rigid sidewalls.
Is there an authoritative source?

You will find about half a dozen authoritative answers on advrider.com.

It's easy to say a war is so important your neighbor should go fight it for you.

Ask a dumb question, get a dumb answer innit. Not exactly Gold Wing
country, but more like I've done since 1950. You?

Me what?
There is also a BBS like that one, but specifically for gold wing
riders. I don't recall the name offhand. Let's see how my Google Fu is
this morning...

I've ridden sickles since 1950, but more off-road than on. I'm no expert on
street bikes. My '89 Honda PC800 has been no tire shredder like my new to
me 2003 Wing.

That's a good site for Wingers, all right. Just no advice on tires.
I've made my decision anyway. I ordered Dunlop Elite 3 Radials from
motorcycletirestore.com.
Thanks!
