It's about time. I've been seeing them riding around on their old
KZ1000Ps for the last few years and was wondering how much longer they could
keep it up. The last one I looked at had nearly 90K miles on the clock.

I've seen at least one BMW in the past. It was likely a trial that didn't
pay off.
I wonder how the ST1300 will be to ride in hot weather. Cops wear high
boots though....
I think it's neat how our mounted cops all wear woolen uniforms.

Actually for police use there may not be much available that's better.
Their requirements are a bit different from those of ordinary riders,
as we don't also have to chase down perpetrators on foot or clear
buildings or pull people out of burning wrecks or any of the other
things that a cop may be called on to do at a moment's notice. Wool's
not a bad material--in the right weave it's got abrasion resistance
that is probably a wee bit better than denim.

I liked the old Kawi KZ1000P's. Least you could tell it was a cop behind
you as the Kawi lamp bounced up and down. Made it really easy to spot one.
Come to think of it, the Honda's lamp will bounce left and right when they
go into their renown high-speed wobble that got them (Pan American version
of the ST) off the streets for patrol bikes in Europe.
