OK, so it seems everyone wants to lower the seat on these touring
bikes. I THINK I want to do just the opposite. I have a 32 inch
inseam but am 6'5" tall. I feel a little cramped on longer rides. Is
there a way to raise the seat so I am not quite so crunched up? It's
an 83,so it's not a super expensive bike (any more) but goes well
except for this.

I'd think the best/fastest/easiest way would be to re-stuff it, or add
to the padding there already. Any upholstery shop will have/get you
foam in any thickness or density. Your stock seat cover may well work
without need to buy or make a replacement.

Buy a Gel or Air type seat or something similar that you can just
attach to the seat that's already there, or an additional pice of foam
in the seat.
