Around here in Vancouver BC, you need a Class 5 License to start
with, then you right another test, then you have 2 more practical tests
within the next 3 months or so, then you ride a pyloned course while picking
up pylons at 2kph in a tight circle.....large regular M/C have a hard time
on this, so they left them go a bit faster to maintain some centrifuge with
no freewheeling.....your feet can never touch the ground either or you
fail...*acrobatics* heh....
Then you get a Scooter License which is a Motorcycle with
Automatic/scooter as a caveat/restriction push gears are becoming a scooter
concept but there is no hassle on that since a motorcycle is not as
heavy/dangerous to others as a car..
If you no drivers license at all, you can overlook the Class 5 #car
license# and be a dedicated scooterist all the time with a Class 8
endorsement...
Firearms tests, motorcycle tests, .......by the time you pass them
all, you won't know how to drive or shoot at all....it's something like th
counter steering thread we had here, I doubt if the roads allow for that
much front tyre pressure/heat lean...way past the chicken line on your
tyres.
Scooter endorsement CCs are still unlimited, whereas standard M/C
have all different classifications to 2,000cc+.....the insurance runs that
way too.

Don't a lot of secondary/hi schools have a car driver education
option in the USA....whereas U can get a car class
endorsement/permit/license right from the DMV attache at the secondary/hi
school?
It would be a good idea in Canada as well, but they were are too
busy teaching us the Pythagorean theorem, and hypotenuse triangle....since
they figured that would be more useful.....

So what happens to those with a class M2 only license, do they
^grand fathered^ to class M1???
Most likely they will keep the caveat M2 and make laws that more
confusing to keep the hi-way patrol totally confused and uncaring for
anything but speeders and drug induced drivers....
I hate all those license upgrades for this and that, which are proly
primarily designed to keep track of people/stock......
