ICBC Insurance has a basic rate depending on Make, year, cc, but mostly
on the declared value you put on it which is a most of the additional cost.

Your package is also important....getting collision on a M/C will cost
you just about the full value of the bike annually,.....but there are lesser
plans no doubt...

I pay just over a hundred a year for comp and liability for my VL800
Suzuzki, BFE, Ahia through Allstate.

The cost of insurance varies greatly between states, not to mention
that there are different types of insurance. Liability on a bike will
be cheap no matter what the model is, but if you want "full-coverage,"
where you will be reimbursed for damage to your vehicle as well, it
will be pricier.

In most states, full-coverage is based on the value of the motorcycle,
but in many states it can depend on the cost of replacing individual
parts. Sport bikes are generally the most expensive to insure, not
just because their riders are more likely to get in accidents, but
because the plastic siding on the bike that makes it look so cool is
very easy to crack and very difficult to repair.

For full coverage on a new rider on a 650cc sport bike, in most
metropolitan areas, expect to pay somewhere around $2000 per year.
Liability will be cheaper, and rates fall exponentially for
experienced riders and for those who live in more rural areas.

If you live in Massachusetts, however, you're kinda screwed. It's the
only state in the union that has insurance rates regulated by
legislation - so don't bother shopping around... companies aren't even
allowed to set their rates. Expect to get ripped off...

since you are from BC, you should try calling, or going to the website of
Megson Fitzpatrick in Victoria, they offer one of the best rates, for all
perils(collision and comprehensive), which includes storage insurance. i
have a 2002 yamaha 650 vstar, and have been riding for 2 years, and i paid
$329 for a years worth.

I have a japanese sportbike 200cc and its collision for a year is only $187
with the lowest deductible
Depends if you are a goldstar also.  A discount for a good driving record in
past years.  I just used Autoplan too but there are MC specific companys
with better deals.
