So did I last week, the battery was dead, so I boosted it off
another backup....drove it 20k parked, stopped, went to start it again and
it was drop dead....

I waited til the rain subsided, and changed the battery with an old
backup, it started twice, drove a bit, parked at an overnight place, stopped
and restarted, with the old battery.....seemd ok.

The current batt I changed, is only 1 year old, it used to charge up
even when idling with 120w head lights on, but it dropped to 10 volts, the
last time, and doesn't seem to want to recover past 12.1 volts after a week.

A fully charged batt that takes a dead drain down  is really hard to
recover, hell the shop manual says if the batt is down to 12v, discard
it......at $250/dealer a pop, I'll be looking for generic brands, since this
GS and Yuasa main brands aren't much better for X2 the price......It's worth
a shot anyway....Yeah I tried all kinds of charging instruments...

If you ever changed a batt in a Yamaha Majesty 400cc you know quite
a bit of hell there, with the panels and grab bar removed. Getting the 1st
battery cover is a bit of an awkward nightmare even if they have quick
fasteners way at the back....

Cost you a few bux, but you may have a rim leek that a bit of M/C
tire foams can cover if the tire is any good at all.

Batts can be revived, but if it can't hold a CCA (Cold Cranking
Amps) for more than 5 days, it'll leave you stranded in a bad place after a
city drag....

Why not ride it there and get some re-practicing..whatever.

You hear that Paul .ac , does this guy know a Magoo??
I know what he's referring to, the world is full of lead foot
cagers, some fast lane changers signal, some take advantage of the Scoot,
and don't signal, some are brain dead all over.

I'd never leave The states, if I wasn't so heavily rooted here, I'd
be gone like a shot, or at least a bat out of hell....

Maybe the dude likes his 15mpg 'vette more, maybe he's allergic to
cold and wet like most are....especially if he's a "suit".....

Good of you to change his mind....Magoo!

Census says that about 93% of the American world has a Cell phone,
they might die without it....as for me, I'm working on an emergency call
only plan on my inactivated one....

But then if you put a piece of tinfoil under the sims card, it will
only allow emergency calls.....

I found the foot brake had to be real sloppy (not like the mechanics
adjust it) in order to have a good control from such a vertical position,
and sitting on top of the rear tire to boot.....pretty easy to do flying
side leap that way...right both wheels off the ground flying leap from a
miscalculation of front-->back---front-->front-->back---front brake
emergency stop...took a 100  foot skid on pavement there.....

I always wondered what to do with the left handle bar, I tried to
mount a camera rig with totaclamps, but I'm driving the Majesty now....

Commercial Drive??? I pass there a lot, seen some Hells Angels
driving up there on the LEFT side of the road.....
