That's pretty normal considering the difference in weight, but the
250 will get tossed a bit more in crosswinds and will suffer on the
hi-way....

They don't suck that much if you twist her to 7000rpm from launch to
25kph charges up the battery more from the stop idle drain times.

is that Yamaha chose that method to get the scoot to comply with the noise regs
in the first place. The 250 version with it's smaller lung didn't need such a
wacking with the killjoy stick that the 400 got.
I heard of that a few times and followed up some propaganda from
the days of the MBK Skyliner400 and Motobi400......what they would have done
is put more "mesh/buffers" in the exhaust, and resetting the exhaust volume
in the ECU settings.

this knowledge would be of help to a few more people as well.
Personally I think it's all not worth the time and money, unless
your route is a dead set standard....
Pulley/Roller Weights are all a catch22...the stock Maj drags from
overweight, but climbing hills slowly will set it up to 7,000 rpms and more
with lighter rollers.
We discuss performance variations, but did you ever notice how the
Tilt Engine Cut-out sensor doesn't work right?.......the ECU does not start
up chronologically as per the manual, my oil light finally lit up after
3000k, which means it may be on the USA system 3000miles rather than
5000kilometers?
The Seat is still too wide for a good 2 foot stop, but I resolved
that without spending a penny...
Why does it occasionally choke on the Start rapid stop "Blurp" when
real cold...there was a fix "that many got" for that but no reply from the
elusive Yamaha site....
I think it runs just right stock, just a matter of twisting the
throttle differently...
