I went to my local dealership to change to change my tires to winter
type (law requirement here) only to learn that they don't sell such
oddity. Apparently, ot enough people are subborn to ride a bike
december-march around here. So, where can i get those?
I'm assuming that temperatures of zero and below (Celsius, of course)
will affect the grip etc. of the usual tires. Is that correct?
Enjoying Honda Varadero '03, if that has any relevance.

The best you can do is probably what are called 'trials' tires.

Are we talking about the tires that have bigger "bolts" made
of rubber or the kind of tires that Albrecht sent a link about?
The first is troubled with far less traction on a normal, paved
road. The other is only goog for ice and killing small animals.

First check the law carefully.
The winter tire requirement probably doesn't apply to motorcycles.
If it does, the government has effectively banned bikes during the winter
because I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as snow tires for bikes.
OTOH, the police may realize how stupid the law is and not enforce it (for
bikes).

Slightly. Knowing that, adjust your riding habits. No need to change
tires.
