I got rid of a gold wing a few years ago. My wife would like me to get
another one but none are available where I live. There is however a Venture
and a Voyager for sale. Are these bikes as durable as the wing?
Thanks

I'm sure the Yamaha's are just as durable as the GW.
Another bike that you might consider is a used Valkyrie.
I don't know why the GW is unavailable in your locale,
and that may apply to the Valkyrie as well. But, if not,
the Valk is an excellent value, and probably a lot like
the GW you previously owned.
Additionally, whatever your choice, people do sometimes
cross state lines to purchase a bike. Maybe, that's an opt-
ion for you.

thanks... it's just that there are no used GW's right now. We want to go on
a trip in the next month or so. I have a 750 seca and a Shadow 1100 which is
very comfortable but not for my wife on the back.

I had the same problem....modified the VL800 a bit and now she's happy
back there, at least for a few hours.
If your Shadow seat is easily removeable, you may want to consider
making a few mods to it and the passenger peg location.
I moved my passenger pegs out 1 1/2", down 2" and forward about 1". I
raised the pilllion pad 1" and added a backrest. The difference is
before Mrs. Joe would/could ride an hour max, now she's good to go all
day.
Cost? 50.00 dollars for the backrest (new-ebay), a couple of dollars
for new longer bolts for the pegs. (I turned the mounts around and
flipped them upside down) The seat I used longer bolts and made some
rubber spacers from things I had laying around here.
