Actually, they are, they're of high enough quality that the major
American toy companies were willing to put their names on them.

Well, maybe. China's a big place--it's quite possible that there will
continue to be a range of quality levels from them for some time.
Eventually somebody over there is going to figure out that the
Japanese made a huge amount of money in the US market and maybe they
should figure out how the Japanese did it and try to do something
similar.
