Get ready for the onslaught of opinions.
Here's mine-
I use IRC tires (OEM) and have no problem with them at all. I run
them on my '03 Volusia VL800 which I ride more like a sport touring
bike. (don't ask)
I priced the Dunlops and Avons that were the correct replacement, but
couldn't justify the extra cost since the "crappy" IRC tires served me
very well for 15,000 miles in ALL weather......yes, snow too.
I have used Cheng Shin tires on other bikes in the past with great
results as well. Call me a miser.
