I'm looking to ride the Alaskan Highway next year after I've built up
enough vacation time at work. I'd like to do it on a motorcycle. Just
wondering if anyone has any experience with this trip.

My general idea is this. I live in New England. I'd ride to Vegas spend
a few days around there. Head to Seattle then do the Alaskan Highway.

My return route would be cutting across Canada back home.

I'm thinking 1 month for the trip.

Any thoughts?

What bike are you using?  Lots of tips may be specific to the capabilities
of the bike, etc.

Might want to consider (brace yourself...) a rear tire swap to a car tire.

The roads in Alaska are notoriously rough on MC tires and some of those who
go up there with cruisers use car tires for better mileage, durability on
gravel, and a wider footprint for the softer or gravel covered roads.

Excuse my naiveness but is that possible? I mean I am looking at my
bike. Well, was just looking at it and I can't even imagine a car tire
being able to fit. Let alone how to lean with it and all the normal
riding technique.

But the wider foot bring does seem to make some since at least as
physics is concerned.
