I have an 81 Suzuki GS1100E Bike and the left turn signal does not
operate.I have replaced the bulbs and the blinker relay. Everything
else seem to work ok just this one side not blinking.
Any suggestions?

You should have a Clymer or Chilton manual or the owners manual and a
magnifying glass to study the wiring diagram so you can trace out the
wires.

If you're talking about the left front turn signal, the first thing to
do is remove the turn signal lens and inspect the light socket. If
it's all corroded or burnt, clean it out.

If the socket is OK, remove the headlight and trace the turn signal
wires and the ground wire. Suzuki used black wires with a white tracer
for ground wires through out the motocycle.

Turn the ignition key on, push the turn signal switch to left and
check for intermittent ~12 volts on the power wire to the signal.

Turn the key off and use your ohm meter to check the B/W ground wire
to the chassis.

Check the two bullet connectors on the wires for loose or corroded
connections. Loose connections will get hot and turn the plastic
insulating sleeve black. Corrosion will turn the metal parts green.

Use the same procedure to trouble shoot the rear turn signal. There is
a connector under the seat that carries power to the tail/brake light
and the turn signals.

The GS1100 Suzukis had an electronic control box under the gas tank
that controlled the headlight on/off function and monitored for burned
out light bulbs and low battery water

That black plastic box may have also contained an automatic turn
signal shutoff function.

If the timer function isn't in that box, it's in the smaller turn
signal control unit underneath the left hand side cover.

You'll need to check all the connectors in the circuit for loose pins
or corrosion.

The plastic connector shells will be old and brittle, so be careful if
you have to de-mate and re-mate any off those connectors...
