SSR = Semi-Sportbike Related... Concours are semi-sport bikes... Much more
touring... But if anyone is interested, here are the details. From a
trusted friend...
Two Kawasaki Concours for sale. One 99 has about 13,000 miles and was
without a scratch. It went down three years ago. The heart break was
the worst part. The front plastics, instrument cluster, and one foot
peg got trashed. Bent one handlebar a bit. The rest of the bike was
still good. I have been putting it back together, picking up parts on
eBay and such. I then bought a 87 for the front end. Seller said he
was riding it and just decided to buy a new one. He said it runs, but I
never had time to try. I didn't really have much time to work on the
99. I now have been forced to give up the fantasy that I will have time
to finish my bike. It still needs some wiring for front turn signals
and some of the instrument cluster. Speedometer, headlight, and rear
turn signals work. I had it out for a ride a few times last year. Just
started it up yesterday, runs fine. Have a bunch of other parts, 5 hard
side cases (but 3 pretty beat up), extra wire harness, peg extensions,
handle raisers, . The 99 shop manual on CD, paper manual for 87. Both
bikes would make great rides for someone with some time and tools.
Pics available, He will probably put it on eBay in a week or two if I don't
find anyone interested. I know he needs to clear $1500 for a special
purchase he wants to make.
Sounds like a decent deal to me for someone who knows what to do to get 'em
on the road and fun-worthy again!
