It's time for a new Bike for me. I want to go up to a 750cc and sell my
Honda Rebel 250cc.
I've been looking at a new Honda VT750C. I've never been particularly fond
of the V-Twin Harley clones, but this does seem to be a nice bike, and all
the other manufacturers have moved to this style (V2). The Honda VT750C
might be what I'm looking for, a bike capable of highway trips, but without
a lot of vibration being water-cooled and shaft driven.
I would really appreciate hearing from people that ride or have rode this
Bike, pros and cons. Please help.

I like the VT750C2 better. I work with a guy that has a VT750C Aero and
he loves it. It's very reliable and very quiet. He has burgundy tins,
very pretty.
It rides reasonably nice, although my Triumph cruiser handles much
better. It's a parallel twin.

While a pretty conservative choice, that's still a pretty big step up from a
250.
If you are a big enough guy to handle it, go for it.
I don't think you'll be disappointed.....except maybe for vibration.
Since you are not a rookie, you should be able to negotiate a test ride.
That's important.
Other good choices, should you NOT be a very big guy:
Shadow VT600.....but last model year was 2007....this is what I got
recently.
Virago 500.....also a good, capable bike from what I've heard. Also heard
they are being discounted some places.

Thanks for the tips so far. I am an experienced rider, I'm 55 and have rode
for 30 years. I've rode bikes up to 1200cc, but for the last 3 years, I've
been riding this little 250 mainly for the gas mileage. However, now I want
to do some summer, week long tours, and I just can't with the 250. It will
do 60-70 MPH, but it vibrates too much for highway travel. Stepping up to a
750 shouldn't give me any trouble at all. I have Arthritis, so that's why
I've been asking questions about vibration. I want to have as little
vibration as possible, while still riding at highway speeds of 60-70 MPH.
People that have rode this type of Bike would be in a good position to
advise me regarding this. I hope to hear from more riders and I welcome pros
and cons so I can make an educated decision.

Wouldn't this be an excellent place to find more
