Looking for engine guards for a 1998.  Found some on Ebay,
but quite pricey.  MC Enterprises used to sell them, but no
can't find any aftermarket companies that sell them.  Plano
Honda said they can get them, but other dealers say not
available from Honda.

I seem to recall looking them up on:
http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/
just a short while ago. I actually went into the parts diagram(s)
to locate. Of course, (1)they're not aftermarket/used (2)may
not actually be available had I tried an order.

However, if you can't find them, email me and I locate and
send the link.

There's also a ton of Valkyrie site scattered around, I can
send you those links, as well.

Thanks,

Gary

It appears that you can get every Valkyrie part you need at:
http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/

As an example, I linked the schematic below for the Valkyrie engine
guard setup, with both guards, bolts, flanges, etc.
http://www.hondaonlineparts.com/showView.asp?pid#80&prd=Valkyrie |GL1500CD-Valkyrie|2001

Unfortunately, the years available here are only 2001-2003, but I can't
imagine this item being different for a 1998.

You start out at: http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/
Then choose Valkyrie online store:
    http://www.hondadirectlineusa.com/valkyrie/index.asp
Then choose the Honda OEM parts picture, next to PayPal:
    http://www.hondaonlineparts.com/
Then Valkyrie:
    http://www.hondaonlineparts.com/subCats.asp?prd=Valkyrie
Then the model, I just used the standard:

http://www.hondaonlineparts.com/subYears.asp?prd=Valkyrie%7CGL1500CD%2DValkyrie
Then, the year, I just used 2001:

http://www.hondaonlineparts.com/expView.asp?prd=Valkyrie%7CGL1500CD%2DValkyrie%7C2001
Then, engine gaurd(aka guard):

http://www.hondaonlineparts.com/showView.asp?pid#80&prd=Valkyrie |GL1500CD-Valkyrie|2001
Now, locate the part in the picture, scroll down to the descriptions,
get the part number and enter it in the upper right corner. Example,
62501-mz0-000 is the guard R engine. Click go, and the price
is shown, and the buynow selection.

Obviously, there are many Valkyie sites, most with classified sections,
but this Honda Direct site is an alternative.

Although I haven't ordered any engine guards here, I have ordered
more generic items, with success.

Thanks,

Gary Walker
