OTOH, I just bought the new tire I wanted from DK on sale at a 30%
savings, and it smells as butyl mercaptanish as I ever expected it
would...

What tire did you buy and what did you pay?
I'm curious if the discount was a better price than motorcycle superstore.

My FZR1000's OEM size front tire is a 130/60-17, but nobody makes such
a sport tire except Maxxis (the tire company formerly known as "Cheng
Shin").
So when DK offered the U-rated ProMaxx 6102 for $90 instead of $130, I
jumped on it like it was a red-headed teenaged Mormon hooker...
DK doesn't charge any sales tax to out of state customers, but
shipping to the west coast was $13.00.
The ProMaxx works a lot better than that out-tracking road camber-
following pile- of-shit Bridgestone BT020 that I suffered with for
8000 miserable miles.
DK sent me an alert this AM saying that they had tires on clearance
for 40% off.
