Someone mentioned training wheels in another thread. There is
actually such a thing:

The ones I saw in real life were retractable with a little fender on
each wheel.

I saw a guy a few weeks ago with 'training wheels' on a small
motorcycle. He was an elderly guy riding a girl who must have been
around 10. I thought he must have made them himself. Now I find they
are commercially made. Jeesh!

How ridiculous. If you need training wheels you have missed the boat
already.

People with bad knees and such might find them handy. A bike with
outriggers would be an alternative to a trike.
You'll be old too, someday.

Only if he's one of the lucky ones!
Sometimes I complain that getting old really sucks. My wife reminds me that
the alternative isn't a lot brighter.
