hello,
I'm planning on a road trip from houston, tx to monterrey, mx.
I've seen that I can take 59 south all the way to border or interstate
10 to san antonio, then 35 south.

I've been told 59 south is more scenic route.

This is the first long trip I'll be doing.  Any advice from the
experienced riders on this sort of trip?

Also, I've been looking for riding gear (jacket and pants as well as
rain clothes) but having trouble finding them.  Can anyone suggest
good quality riding gear that works well in HOT Houston weather?

Thanks,

Oskar

ps.  if it helps, my bike is 2008 suzuki c90 boulevard.  The only mod
I've made is the backrest for driver seat.  This makes riding VERY
comfortable IMHO.

in '70 i had to start a line up at fibras quimicas in monterrey starting on
a monday

i started friday afternoon and it was spitting snow.

richmond to dallas on saturday and sunday night 8pm i was in the holiday inn
in monterrey.
i was there about 2 weeks and returned thru brownsville and across to
atlanta area, met some friends.

If you get caught carrying a gun into Mexico, you'll go to jail.

Recently, a USMC sergeant was sent to Mexico to pick up some AWOL
Marine, and he stopped at the border check point.

The Mexican police directed him to park on the Mexican side of the
border, then asked him if he had any guns in the car.

As a matter of fact, it was his own car, and he did have shooting
match rifles in the trunk.

The Mexicans threw him in jail and it took a few weeks to get him
released...
