Greetings:
Order up, but I'm ony here for a minute so do it quick like.
Just had my 06 Ultra in to the dealer for the 20K service. They did a
thorough job, and did everything the book called for. Let=ft it clean
and it runs like a top. Time spent was 4.5 hours @ $95.00 per hour,
the local going rate. With parts (including synthetic oil) it came out
to about $575.00. Is this "normal" for a 20K service? Point of
reference, my wife's BMW car cost just under $700 for it's Schedule II
service, about the same amount of time spent.
Now mind you, I'm not complaining, I have a lot of cash tied up in
this machine and I want it to last me a LOOOONG time. But just
wondering since this is my first H-D and I've never really spent
anywhere near this much for a service.
Anyway, thanks for any personl experiences.
Lasy chance to order, then I'm out the door!

Look in your servive manual, it will give you a list of the things
that they do.. For about $50.00 or so you could have done the same
thing yourself.
And in less time than they charged.

I'm curious about what they did that you couldn't
do in your garage with a OEM service manual?
Just wondering,

Just did mine.....ran me about $100 for oil (synthetic and bought an extra
quart), spark plugs, the primary and derby cover gaskets, and a couple o-rings.
Took me about 4 hours, but I had the TV going across the garage.
Other than the oil (engine/trans/primary) change and the spark plugs...pretty
much everything else at 20K miles is inspections.
