Hello everyone.
I need some advice. Looking at getting my first Harley. I've come
across locally here a 1995 Sportster XL custom for sale.
It has only 104 actual miles, It has sat inside a home (drained of
fuel) since it's day of purchase. After pouring fresh gas in, it
started without any trouble right away.
Has everything a Sportster Could have except a windshield. It's
beautiful......
1st question is that it has a sale price of $7,500......is that too
high/low?
2nd Would you have concern with a bike that has sat that long although
indoors?
Any advice would be appreicated

11 years sitting,
internal rust on gears engine bearings brakes ect ect, if it were in a
humidity controlled environment I would have much less maybe no
worries, however most homes are not humidity controlled, so it would
make me wonder, particularly if in a coastal area.
I've only seen a few bikes that sat for a long period but they were
all in bad shape internally. but they were all also in Florida

Midwest. Nice home with climate control. The chrome did have some
small dot like smudges that rubbed right off with your finger
though...... It cleaned up very nicely.
It didn't "appear" to be corrosion.....more like an only smudge?

I wouldn;t worry to much about then, (at least i would think that)
no salt in the air, full climate control, not to terribly much of a
chance for things to have been rusted up to badly then (hopefully)
