A round for all my air-cooled, pushrod-operated chums..
I stopped by the local HD dealer tonight to price out a bobbed rear
fender for my '97 FXDL. After going through the HD book, and then Drag
Specialties, I'm not sure if the painted factory fender is worth the
extra $100 over an aftermarktet fender which I'd have painted at a
shop. Dopey me, I figgered a fender from a '97 Wide Glide should bolt
right on a Low Rider, right? Apparently there's three different part
numbers... the pre-'02 fender, the '02-'05 fender, and the '06 & up
fender. They all look the same to me. Is a HD fender guaranteed to be a
better fit than aftermarket?
