Sales tax goes up next week courtesy of the state's broken budget.
Buy now or complain later.

I complain every time I go into a Harley dealership. Another 1% increase in
sale tax just makes me sick. California is up to what.... almost 10% sales
tax now?
At least the extra tax on gas sales didn't get passed, but they'll figure
some other way to fuck us. One day I'll be outta California. Hopefully
sooner than later... depending on how the job market goes.

They already have.
California Proposition 1A, also known as the Budget Stabilization Act.
Fed income tax withholding was less this last pay period. Asked payroll
about the increase in shekels on the paycheck and they told me not to
get too cozy. The State withholding may be increasing soon. From the
link below:
"An increase of 0.25% in the state's personal income tax on every tax
bracket"
But, we get to vote on it -

I was (sorta) joking around with some guys I work with today complaining
about how poorly run the company I work for is. And sorta mentioned that
when I wake up in the morning my major debate is whether to come in to work,
or come in to work with a pistol.
Then today I find out that my wife may be unemployed in about 3 weeks. I'm
sure she'll get another job, because we've been through this before, but
this added stress is not doing my mental health any good.
I may be taking a solo mind clearing trip on the FLTRI this weekend. I'll
either go East or North and may end up in Laughlin or somewhere along the
coast highway.... but either way I need to just get on the road, find a
clean NAS place with a bar and a diner and then kick back with a bottle of
JD or Gentleman Jack and sip some whisky in a chair on a porch and watch a
sunset.
