Hello,
I'm in the market for a new Harley and I'm wondering what people's
perceptions are about the buying environment. I looked at Harleys
three or four years ago and at the time it was not uncommon for dealers
to tack two or three grand on top of the MSRP. Is that still the
situation? I've searched the archives of this group and found some
helpful information but the most recent such post was a couple of years
ago and since these things fluctuate I thought I'd try to get some
current opinions. Thanks in advance!

At around 70 degrees I personally found it to be a tad on the cold side.
I tried to change it, but found the thermostat was locked. On the bright
side, there was no precipitation of any sort.

You need to hone your searching skills. I searched this NG via Google,
limited my search to the last year, and used only msrp as the search
term. The first hit was your post, the very second, an answer to your
question:
"http://groups.google.com/groups?as_q=msrp&num &scoring=r&hl=en&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_ugroup=rec.motorcycles.harley&as_usubject=&as_uauthors=&lr=&as_drrb=q&as_qdr=y&as_mind=1&as_minm=1&as_miny81&as_maxd&as_maxm=5&as_maxy 06&safe=off"
Guess I'll have to get my own drink...

That's their option and choice.
Nobody fored any consumer to bend over.

I am not you, so who cares?
Have you checked it out, yourself?

Here's the drill.
If you want to pay over MSRP, then you will.
If you don't want to pay over MSRP, then don't.
If you want what you want, buy the SOB that YOUR budget allows, and
ride the damn thing, as that is all that matters.
This topic and whining about a price is getting old.
Ask yer Mommy is you are even allowed to ride one, before you ask others
if she can afford to buy you one.

If you're going to be rude, you could at least try to be clever.
