Hi All!

I just took my '98 Dyna Conv. out and after about 30 minutes and a good warm
up period I noticed new engine noises. One is like bird chirping and at idle
I can hear what sounds like air leaking. It sounds like an air compressor
instead of a big twin. When I got it home I couldn't tell where the air
leaks were coming from. Any ideas? Thanks for any help here.

Jay

Uh, What "new" leaks?
What "new" noises?

How did the bike ride and perform?

My idea for you?
Wake up tommorrow, start the bike up again, and after riding the SOB,
tell us what else you "hear."

 Sorry about lack of detail.
Well lets see. I've only ridden it about 4-500
miles in the last 2 years due to health problems. It has 7200 miles on it
and I put on a new Vance & Hines Pro Pipe HS put on it 2 yrs ago, and last
summer had new rockerbox gaskets replaced due to oil leaks. It has been in
my garage all winter and I just rode it for the fitrst time this year.
Anyway, my bird chirping noise rises and falls with the throttle and like I
said at idle the air noise is noticable. If I can't figure it out or its not
an normal experience I'll take it in to my local shop. Bottomline is, I'm
feeling good and I want to ride and I know you know what I'm talking about.
Everyone be good and be safe and thanks for any help.

adios,
Jay

Good call, worth a look in the pipes, see if there's any crap from a nest
stuck in there, like acorn shells or something.  My bike shot a very pissed
off mouse out one spring, and I have a buddy that had to pull the top end
off a '77 Bonny to get nest stuffing out of the cylinder one year.
