Drinks all around.  (George, is my credit OK?)

Never really thought about an extended warranty before.  Had wore out
and traded in the last couple of bikes before it was needed.

This might be different.  They want $2,295 for a five-year extension
plan.  I suppose by the time seven years rolls around there could be
150k or more on the clock.

All I have to look at is the glossy sales pamphlet.  Anyone carefully
read the actual contract to get the real language on what is covered,
under what circumstances coverage applies, and what is specifically
excluded?  I do intend to get a copy and read it myself but am curious
as to what better-informed netscum have to say.  And good experiences?
Bad experiences?

TIA

bumping into a tree and falling down, mumbled:

I got it with my 07 RG and haven't had one problem.  Paid for itself
in the first month even... and I take it in roughly every 10-14days
for it's next 2.5k service.  This Thursday I'm taking it in for its
62.5k service and so far each service has only cost me $20 and change
'cause I switched to synth. ($30 and change for the 5 and 10k
services).

They've replace the stereo twice (damn display keeps going out), the
left speaker (just died), a leaking clutch cable, did two upgrades to
the mapping and all the usual things that wear out (except brake pads)
and all it cost me was a "thank you".

For me, it's been well worth it...

Is this apples and oranges here? Extended Warranty, Extended Service Plan?

I think maybe not.  The glossy brochure says "Extended Service Plan"
and is offered through the MoCo but was described to me as an add-on
warranty to the original two-year warranty.

Some dealers offer an "extended service plan", not offered through
the MoCo, that give you a specific number of major services and oil
changes for a price they set.

banker sed:

I did it with the '99 Dyna because it was the first year for the TC88.
Used it for a couple of speedo sensors.
I don't remember the exact numbers but I think I remember getting a
check back for non-use.

With the 2 year warranty and a good dealership, I never looked at
another one.

You won't own the bike long enough to get any use from it.
