I've got a pair of First Gear HT Air Overpants. Lightweight ballistic
nylon/mesh with pads and a removable inner waterproof liner. Have served
me well across country. However, I'm not to careful when putting them
on, usually slide my size 12 boots down through them. During my last
trip to AZ I ended up snagging my boot heel and pushing too hard, ripped
the waterproof liner all to hell.
Called First Gear today, asked about obtaining a replacement liner.
Outta luck, they don't sell replacement parts. However, the guy I talked
to (Rob) keeps whatever he can salvage from warranty return items. He
said he'd call me back, then went to the warehouse to check. Found a
liner in my size, putting it in the mail tomorrow morning, no charge,
free shipping.
Just thought I'd give a shout-out to a company that seems to care.

Good to hear. I really like my First Gear mesh jacket, I don't war my
leather jacket at all now.

Sounds like an experience I had with Carhartt. The first time I
bought a pair of their pants I had no idea how much they'd shrink
in length. I called them to inquire about buying some more material
so I could make the legs longer and they sent me about 2 yards,
free of charge.

Glad to hear. I also have the First Gear HT Overpants, and a First
Gear Kilimanjaro jacket. They're awesome.
Not to hijack the thread or anything, but they fit my wife, so she'll
be wearin' 'em when I get my new Aerostich Roadcrafter one-piece suit.
I figure I'll be commuting to work for at least 2 more years, and St.
Louis in rush hour has gotten more stupid than usual. A few close
calls and I finally decided to upgrade. Aerostich is another company
that is very easy to deal with. They'll work with you 'til it's right.
This way, if my wife ever decides to do a long motorcycle trip with
me, we'll both be well-protected.
