Yesterday I participated in my first of what I hope to be many group rides.
We rode to Jefferson Texas and the BOO Benefit ride. A great cause and a
great time.
Just 4 bikes but the rodes were nice and twisty. Being new to street riding
I was a bit apprehensive to be riding in such close quarters. After a few
miles I realized that it really was up to me to pick a comfortable pace that
I felt safe at. I really have to thank the lead rider. He set a good pace
and kept everyone apprised of what was ahead.

With that being said I would be remiss not to speak on how the XL50 rode.

The bike seemed to love the turns. I had the oppertunity to lean the bike
more that once into some nice sweeping turns and the bike loved it. I might
add so did I. The 1200 electronic fuel injection motor had great pickup and
off the line was pretty strong for me anyway. I did make a chance to forward
controls just prior to the ride and I am very pleased that I did!! The bike
overall was very comfortable.

XL50 Pros:

Great motor for the size of the bike.
Nice style(black and gold.....great combo in an situation)
Loves the corners

Cons

Mid controls make the bike feel crouded
Not the most comfortable grips.

Very pleased with my choice
