Last Sunday I rode over to Webster for the swap meet. A nice ride & a
bit on the cool side, so I decided to test the new connections for the Gerbings
on the bike. While heat wasn't really necessary, I had never used the Gerbings
on this bike, & they're lighter than leather.
First part of the ride just havin' the liner in the jacket & the over
pants on was more than enough without pluggin' 'em in. In the middle of the
forest things cooled off a bit, so I pulled off, plugged 'em in, & gave 'em a
try. They got too hot quickly, but turnin' 'em down made the ride nice &
comfortable. Didn't need 'em on the way home. When I got to the house I did
like any respectable biker......I threw 'em on a shop stool.
Fast forward to today........ Shovelin' a little debris out of the
shop, I decided to put my gear up. It's 76 deg. out there. I was sweatin'
while rollin' up my cold weather gear! Just struck me as odd.
After sweatin' in the shop, I'm gonna have a cold one. Anyone readin'
this drivel have Shirley put yours on my tab.

Yesterday I rode by the corporate HQ to pick up a CU check. I was in T-shirt
and weathered a few showers without even putting on my rain suit. Never got
real wet, never got real cold. Today on the other hand the temps are down into
the 30's, high only supposed to reach 45, it's been raining on and off and
when I walked outside to get my paper in my bare feet, it took about 5 minutes
to get the chill out of them when I got back inside. I was running the AC
yesterday and the heater last night. Not even winter yet in Houston.
