Bike has a stumble. Happens at low rpm more frequently, I guess, but has
also happened cruising briskly down the freeway. Not a tank vent
problem. Open the gas cap, and the problem doesn't fix itself. One
possibility is fuel filters, although when I drained my tank, it didn't
look like there was any crap in the gas. There also looks to have been a
good bit of "oil out the head breather" going on. Hoses direct the oil
into the throttle body. Clogged fuel injectors? What do I do to clean
them, then? I've got the service manual, have the electrical diagnostic
manual on order. Whatta rip. Why are there 2 overpriced books instead of
just 1? Anyway, if anyone has had a similar issue, is there anything
else to look for?

Only when just-filled? When half-empty? All the time? Any mods to the
bike? All stock?

My unit is a '97 and will occasionally do that. I think it is due to the gas
I frequently get at rural gas stations having trace amounts of moisture. A
very simple way to eliminate that as a possibility is to put about a half of
a small bottle of isopropyl alcohol in the tank. It collects the moisture
and cures my random, infrequent problem. Just be careful and don't dribble
any on the paint. Seen it work on several EFI scoots.
