Step up and have yourselves a round of your fave, on me.
A couple-o-weeks ago I bid on, and won, an ebay auction for a lightly
used pair of SE slash cut slip-ons. Got them at a fair price, hoping
they were as advertised, and indeed they were... like new. I had been
running with Hooker tuned flow mufflers, that came with, when I bought
the bike a couple of years back, which were nice enough but louder
than I wanted to be.
I installed the SE's, remapped my PCIII and was feeling pretty good
about the results. The one thing that let me down was that there was
still a goodly amount of popping on deceleration, which drives me
nuts.
Thanks to my good friend FNG Rob, BS #164, I was able to putz with the
map, dial that shit outta there and now enjoy just a hint of "burble
burble burble" as I slow down... quite the nice sound. There is still
a little popping north of 3k rpm but I can live with it, as I really
rarely get there when compression braking.
Thanks Rob!
All in all, it's a happy place I be in.
