The OP was sent for a friend with good intentions so this "don't take
this personal" qualification goes double. Butt that site's seeming
raison d'etre (pardon my French) is that "anti-war" equals
"anti-American".
It occurs to me that both sides in that particular argument think they
are doing what is best for America. But one calling the other
"unAmerican" is just plain unAmerican! (;-
Peace!

I gotta agree with you on that. From the site:
"The anti-war/anti-America group cannot be allowed to use the Vietnam
Memorial Wall as a back-drop to their anti-America venom and stain the
hallowed ground that virtually cries out with blood at the thought of this
proposed desecration ... it must not happen," said veteran Bud Gross. ". All
Americans are invited to support our effort, which is intended as a defender
of hallowed ground and intended as a non-violent competition between those
that would sell out America and those of us who support freedom and keeping
the fight with the enemy on distant shores." "
Since when is protesting anti-American? It's unfortunate that they quote
this guy saying that if you protest the Iraqi war, you are selling out
America. I completely understand their feeling that the protest shouldn't
take place at the Memorial but they lose the arugment when propaganda is
allowed to weaken the message. Stay on task, protect the Memorial simply
because it should not be caught in a political media fight, not because it's
unAmerican.

Try reading the first paragraph as other nationalities which might be
involved in this protest which might be anti-American. For instance, if
there are French protester which are not only showing their position on the
war, but also their position against the USA.
Are they saying there are possibly 2 groups... or that the one group is
combined into both?
<shrug>
Just another view of the same sentence.
Not in any way supporting the sentence; just like to look with an open mind.

Not seeing where you read that. The first paragraph is an opening statement
of the protest.
