I got this plastic thingy on the bar... drinks for everyones opinion on the
matter...
Well I am getting a 95 Dyna Low rider in a month (well stealing from my
brother... not sure if he knows about this or not)
here is my situation... for those of you... with gas prices so High ($3.50
now) I drive 400 miles one way to get to a job and it looks like I am going
to be doing it for a while. this trip gas will cost me $300 round trip and
to do that every other week is a real drain. So I am thinkinig of leaving a
vehicle here in southern IL loaded with the tools I need and Ride the Dyna
back and forth as the weather permits.
here is the question: Had a streetglide and could ride that 500 miles only
stopping for gas... and keep going.... but with old age wondering on the
comfort of a dyna and what could be done to make it ride better and not make
my body hurt when I get to the desination... I am guessing there is a
difference... but how much... it is all interstate...
thanks again for and input, cards on the bar

Thanks for the drink.
I don't know where your body's going to hurt, so I suggest you take it
for a 400-mile ride and see what you want to change. Mainly windshield,
being able to change the position of your legs, proper seat comfort,
rear suspension, and handlebars to put you in the right posture.

Yep, windshield and good seat to begin with.

guess position is the best... have to make it so I can ride it like the
street glide I had.. could go hours on that... hate to do a 400 mile ride
and then have the next day with back problems...
Was talking with one guy... and he was telling me about a radio I should put
on it...and all I could think of .. I only used the radio on my streetglide
only once to annoy the crap out of a buddy of mine when we rode to Omaha...
found a station with mexican music on it.. so when we stopped had it blaring
at the gas station while we filled up... he pulled in first.. I circled
around to make sure he started pumping then I pull up behind him with it
blaring... the whole time we were there... and as soon as we left I shut it
off.. and never had it on again....\
Guessing I am going to have to wait and see what kind of set up it is... as
he won't send me pictures....

Depends on what you consider "old age". Into 2002 I rode an FXR. Normal day
ride was 300 miles, trip
days averaged 450 to 600. I put a small windshield on when we rode from Florida
to Seattle. Of course I was
only 58 back then.
Dyna frames & seats are pretty comfortable. Make sure you have highway pegs,
add a windshield, &
maybe a backrest if you think you need it, & you should be able to enjoy some
nice 8 hour rides.
